Policy Changes

Market Mania!     Due to the recent and on-going volatility of the grain markets, the resulting potential risks to our customers, and the capital-consuming margin calls, Dakota Plains has implemented a few changes with regards to grain contracts.

* We will apply deliveries to contracts first, starting with the oldest.  If you would like to cash a load at the scale, you may create a new contract, assuming you have the bushels to cover all of your obligations.

* Contract balances will be cleaned up at the end of each delivery period or before settlement is made.

* Futures Only (HTA) contracts cannot be rolled from one crop year to the next crop year and can only be rolled once within that crop year.  Fees will apply.

INFESTED GRAIN

To prevent infestation in your bins, apply malathion to the floors before putting grain in them.

If your bins are already infested, they can be treated with phosfume.
For your convenience, both of these products can be purchased at Dakota Plains.
A South Dakota Private Applicators License is required for purchasing Phosfume.

We will accept corn infested with weevils at our Tripp and Parkston facilities when bin space allows (call 935-6791 for status).
There will be a 6¢ per bushel charge for treatment.
